About The Event

Join us for our LAST History on Tap of the Season. We dive into the dark and somewhat disturbing world of early medicine of the late 19th and early 20th century. How were communities like International Falls and Ranier dealing with epidemics, including the outbreak in 1918 of influenza? We'll tell you! How was death dealt with? Quack doctors and cures? And when were certain medical advancements made?

As Koochiching County was so remote, were unable to provide medical options and standards of care that were provided in other communities more developed than our own. It was a race to survive limited science and a race to catch up with the rest of the United States. Join us as we talk about where exactly we stood and how we overcame medical emergencies!
